The Call of the World

International travel has always been a part of my life. I'm an immigrant living in the country where I wasn't born. I would also often visit my home country and the neighboring countries. Yet, there was always a persistent urge to see more. I realized that to genuinely capture a destination's essence, I needed a deeper commitment. What good would it do to spend a month in Japan, just visit popular spots like Tokyo and Kyoto? Or visit Italy just to see that one Instagram spot, so I could check selfie off my list? That doesn't create a genuine and satisfying experience. I want to create lasting memories.

Expanding My Perspective

With each passport stamp, my views on success evolved. I understood that to broaden my horizon, I had to broaden my travels. Collecting souvenirs lost its meaning. Instead, I yearned for meaningful interactions. During my travels to Ghana, I formed bonds with locals, learning about sustainable tourism. These relationships not only amplified the richness of my stories but also helped forge a deeper understanding of local customs.

The Birth of a New Vision

This epiphany became the foundation for this organization. I created it with a mission: to make travel accessible to everyone and empower more black, brown, and other marginalized communities to travel more. There is nothing inherently extraordinary about my ability to travel; it stems from my passion and determination. Through this platform, I aim to ignite that same desire in others. By sharing practical tips, travel strategies, or even itineraries, I hope to empower you to embark on your own adventures. I believe that everyone has the potential to set off on their own travel journey. Whether it’s planning a solo trip abroad, seeking an international internship or fellowship, or exploring new cities with friends, it begins with recognizing your desire. Research has shown that people feel more fulfilled after traveling, and that travel actually makes people happier. It all starts with a small spark of inspiration.
