People's daily routines, their vibrant spirit, all of this was energising to Michael. Yet, just a short distance from the city center, Michael found himself surrounded by tall palm trees and lush greenery, a peaceful contrast to the busy streets just a few miles away.

The weather was cool and calm, even during summer, which added to the city’s charm. Michael lived in a gated community that felt like a small world of its own. It had a swimming pool, a clubhouse, and a basketball court, mostly inhabited by Americans. This setting helped him ease into life in Kenya without feeling completely out of place.

In 2010, Mike returned to Kenya for spring break. This visit was different. He now had friends waiting for him. One highlight was a trip to Amboseli National Safari Reserve, a place Mike had only dreamed of visiting before. The vast landscapes and wildlife left him with memories that would last forever.

Mike reconnected with Matt and another friend of theirs, Liza, with whom they had both become close friends. Their friendship grew stronger over time, despite living in different parts of the world. Matt even visited Mike in the US, and Liza, who resides in the UAE, still keeps in touch with both of them regularly.
